The export of electromechanical products has seen year-on-year growth for four consecutive quarters

According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, in the first three quarters of this year, China's export value of mechanical and electrical products increased by 6.1% year-on-year, which is 1.8 percentage points higher than the growth rate of total commodity exports, and has been growing year-on-year for four consecutive quarters.

Data released by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products on the 15th shows that in the first three quarters, the export value of key industries, which account for 41.6% of the total export value of mechanical and electrical products, all increased year-on-year, collectively driving the growth of mechanical and electrical exports by 5.6 percentage points. Among them, the export value of key industries such as general mechanical equipment (11.1%), household appliances (13.5%), integrated circuits (19.8%), and complete vehicle exports (20.7%) all achieved double-digit year-on-year growth, with a significant driving effect.

Why can China's mechanical and electrical products continue to release new trade momentum? Xiao Lu, Deputy Director of the Foreign Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce, introduced at the special press conference of the Ministry of Commerce Canton Fair held this month that in order to serve the development of new quality production forces, this session of the Canton Fair has set up 16 special areas for smart topics, with nearly 300 more participating companies than the previous session, and the number of exhibition spaces has increased by about 26.5%. Special areas such as smart life, industrial robots, and intelligent manufacturing production lines have attracted nearly 400 companies, with an exhibition space exceeding 1,500.

Several sales representatives of the company are also questioned by foreign buyers from different countries and regions about product details.

"Our main export is commercial and civilian cleaning robots, and we basically do customized production, which can accurately produce the robots needed by each customer. This is also one of our advantages, because the hardware and software of these products are built by our own engineers. No matter what ideas the customers have, we can modify and realize the other party's needs from the bottom." Sales representative Xiong Mincheng told the first financial reporter, "The customers who came to inquire in the past two days are widely distributed. The unit price of our products is not low, but these buyers care more about product quality. In their view, the quality and technology of Chinese products are relatively advanced."

Xiong Mincheng pointed to the largest cleaning car in the venue and said that this product has few competitors in the international market. It can automatically lift, recognize the height of the trash can, and complete the garbage dumping. This is very suitable for the "pain points" of developed markets, because the local labor costs are expensive, and there is more demand for such fully automatic cleaning robots.

Sun Yuping, the overseas sales director of Zhuhai Ans Jia Electronics Co., Ltd., told the first financial reporter that the company has also created sales through technological innovation. "Our Aurora series can shoot colorful pictures in the dark without the help of infrared lights and fill lights." She said, "This is a big technological leap. In some places in the world with poor security, this civilian product can play an anti-theft role and even provide relevant evidence to the police."

Sun Yuping said that the company's largest global market is in North America. "All the exhibits on our display wall are traditional advantage products in the North American market. The region is vast and sparsely populated, with a large demand for anti-theft. A household may need seven or eight devices for detection, providing psychological safety and protection, so our products are very popular locally."Xiao Lu stated that currently, China's foreign trade is facing a more complex and severe external environment, with ongoing impacts from geopolitical politics and trade protectionism, and a significant increase in uncertain and unstable factors. However, at the same time, the fundamental basis for China's economic development has not changed, and we still have confidence in continuing to do well in the next phase of work. This confidence mainly comes from three aspects. First, global trade is generally in a recovery process, and international organizations widely predict that global trade demand will maintain a growth trend by 2025. Second, China's comprehensive competitiveness in foreign trade is continuously improving. We have a solid manufacturing foundation, a diverse market layout, flexible business models, an accelerating greening and digitalization process, and an increasing number of free trade agreement partners, all of which will continue to contribute new increments. Third, there is ample policy space. The Ministry of Commerce will thoroughly implement the various deployments of the third plenary session of the 20th Party Congress, further increase policy support, help foreign trade enterprises overcome difficulties, and escort their development, to better release new momentum in foreign trade. Seizing the Blue Ocean of the "Robot" Market

In the "Smart Life" section of this session of the Canton Fair, He Hai, the sales manager of Tianke Electric Appliance Co., Ltd., told the First Financial reporter that the company's stir-frying robot is facing a huge market blue ocean.

"The stir-frying machine is not a new product, but currently, in the entire stir-frying machine market, the proportion of products that are small, beautiful, and highly intelligent is only about 5%. At the same time, many buyers have demand, but due to the very limited market supply, many customers are frantically searching for such products online and offline," he said. The company's products are growing extremely fast in the market, and the shipment volume of new products in the second month can reach three times that of the first month.

He Hai said that the company's commercial automatic stir-frying machine is very popular in Southeast Asia and among the Chinese community in Europe because these regions have a high acceptance of Chinese food, and the labor cost is also high. If a commercial stir-frying robot is used, a dish can be cooked in 2-3 minutes without human supervision. "Our machine has thousands of recipes built in, not only can it make the eight major Chinese cuisines, but it can also make Western food such as pasta," He Hai introduced.

Shanxi Jiashi Da Robot Technology Co., Ltd. has accurately found the gap in the related market and released and continuously iterated smarter home window cleaning robots. Niu Liqun, the chairman of the company, told the First Financial reporter: "Compared to previous generations of products, our algorithm has been greatly improved, and it can automatically calculate the working method according to different application scenarios, such as easily applying to inclined sunroom glass roofs and some special-shaped glasses."

Niu Liqun said that in the first three quarters of this year, the company's export volume achieved a 150% increase, with major export markets spread across Europe, South America, North America, and Southeast Asia. He explained: "The problem of cleaning windows is a global issue, but such a robot solution is only being done by Chinese companies, so we have achieved growth against the trend. We are enjoying the dividends of innovation, and in the future, international related standards will also be formulated by our Chinese companies."

Niu Liqun also revealed: "Since participating in the Canton Fair eight or nine years ago, 80%-90% of our company's orders have been obtained through the Canton Fair platform." Not only companies like Jiashi Da, which have considerable export volumes, can use the Canton Fair platform. According to Xiao Lu, this session of the Canton Fair has further improved the management methods to facilitate more high-quality production enterprises to participate directly.

In July this year, the Ministry of Commerce revised and issued the joint exhibition management methods, clarifying that at least 10% of the booths in each exhibition area can be arranged for enterprises with development potential, but without export volume, or export volume has not yet reached the exhibition standard, with titles such as high-tech, specialized and new, manufacturing single champion, etc. Up to now, in the 136th Canton Fair, the number of high-quality enterprises with the above titles participating in the exhibition has exceeded 8,000 for the first time, with 24,000 booths, accounting for 27% and 33.6% of the total number of export exhibition enterprises and booths, respectively, which is an increase of 40% and 43% compared to the previous session.
